My daily skincare regimen involves cleansing, toning and moisturising. Healthy skin needs mild cleansing, for which I use gentle soaps. I use products that are mild and do not strip my skin of essential proteins. I am not much of a make-up user and stick to basics like a moisturiser, lip balm and a neutral foundation.

I don't go for regular facials, but do indulge in clean-up sessions once in a while. Also, I am very particular about taking off the make-up before I go to bed. As a ritual, I like to luxuriate in a relaxing body massage with lukewarm coconut or baby oil every week. I think working towards maintaining a healthy body should be a priority for everyone. It is also equally important to maintain a high emotional quotient and a positive attitude towards life.

I take care of myself with homemade remedies and a balanced diet. Working towards maintaining a healthy body should be a priority for everyone. I try and work out as often as possible. Since, I travel regularly, it becomes difficult for me to have a daily workout routine, but whenever I hit the gym I do cardio training and some light weights.

Thanks to my years dedicated to badminton, I have an athletic body. Also, since relaxation matters, no matter how busy my shooting schedules are, I always keep some quality time aside for family and friends.

A healthy lifestyle, nutritious diet and the correct skincare and fitness regimen all go hand in hand to make possible a beautiful you today and tomorrow. I am a firm believer in skincare the natural way. I am careful about using skincare products that are the right mix of nature and science.

One should never try to go overboard on any products, as I think the more you try to be experimental with your skin, the worse it gets. Just stick to the basics of skincare and witness the splendid results. There are a host of natural effective products available that are a better bet than harsh chemically enhanced ones.

Remembering Johnny Walker the Comedy King

Come the month of July and unconsciously I get reminded of Badruddin Qazi, aka Johnny Walker, who died in this month about five years back. The late comedian had an appeal that transcended time. He treated his own contemporaries, as also those belonging to the present generation, with equal humour. Art, he made relevant for all times to come.

My liking the legendary actor began with watching ‘Pyasa’, in which Walker plays the massage-man or the champi-wala. My own knowledge of the comedy king’s reel life comes from watching his films, in which he was cast as the hero’s friend and confidante who, with his redoubtable style, provided the much-needed comic relief.

But it wasn’t the joker which Johnny Walker played always. He also treated serious roles with such ingenuity and indulgence that the characters became etched in one’s mind. Remember Isa Bhai of Anand who dominated even Rajesh Khanna with his screen presence? He had the capability to make the audience laugh or weep with his earthy performances.

In Mere Mehboob, Walker played a pedestrian-poet who always has a paid and captive audience, and who are always there to wah-wah him on rendition of his off-the-cuff, impromptu tuk-bandi - heterogeneous rhyming. His pen name was ‘Ghayal’, and evoked an added mirth and jollity, coupled with his diagonally flashing smile worked up with a tweet that was peculiar to him.

Johnny bhai played the anti-climaxes with meticulous ease. Be it his flooring of the rival or that of himself, the desired effect was nothing but pure comedy. There was hardly any room for slapstick. That he always played the literal second fiddle to the hero in no way brought his screen presence down, nor affected his own very perfect presentation.

His bony face was a beautiful ingredient in the toolbox of his art of playing comical roles. The forked countenance, round bulging eyes, big ears, cave-like openings of the nose, M-shaped receding hairline, eyebrows and moustache running parallel on both sides down from the raised elevation in between as if they were the hands of a clock when the time is 20 minutes to four, were a perfect comedian’s artful veneer. Added to this was his typical style and dialogue delivery with employed mannerisms.

Johnny Walker was a master of playing situations, when he would be seen as a spin-doctor himself spreading stories boastfully and later on exposed. Or someone who is really frightened but pretends as if he could brave it all valiantly.

His language and pronunciation was superb. If it were the demand of the scene to play an English-speaking character, Johnny Bhai’s mimicry was superb and he would act exactly as if he was born and brought up in Oxford. Such incongruities of appearance and ideal realities of situations made his audiences go wild. He left his mark on every role he played.

I think lot of you must be knowing about the services of Seventy MM which claims to be Largest Movien Rental Services in India. I wish to share my experience about it with you'll.

I became a member of Seventy MM on 17-06-2008 after getting a call from one of the sales executive of Seventy MM who informed me that they have all the movies since 1930 in DVD or VCD besides lot of English Movies and Charges would be Rs.300/- pm and some amount as Refundable Security. You also had option to queue your proformance of movies online which will come to you on request. I was also told that if you order a movie upto 0900 hrs in the morning then you will get the movie same day. I got conveinced with the idea and have enrolled for their services.

I think it was a nightmare that I had enrolled for as their systems have lot of bugs, their services are so poor that they will not give you movies till 2000 hrs in the evening and their operations come to a stand still mode if one of their delivery boy goes on leave. One can well imagine that I could not get more than 12 movies through out the month even though I wished for. The reasons could be as follows:

Althought they don't leave more than one movie with anybody but my request could not be forwarded because as per their system they had two movies in my name.
Their delivery boy was not well so they could not deliver the movie.
On the other occassion, they could arrange to deliver in my area.

and lots more.

During this tenure I had spoken to a number of People such as Mr Amit, Ms Nayab, Mr Tarun, Mr Anuj, Mr Alok (Customer Care Head), Ms Neha [executive who sold me this service], Wanted to speak to Mr P.L. Sharma [Head for Delhi Region] but he didn't come on line. I don't know whether he had been informed about my willingness to talk to him. I also wanted to speak to Mr Raghav Kher [MD] but I was informed that he stays at U.S. and nobody has his email id or phone no. where he can be contacted. I was also told that if you send a mail to support, it will be read by Seniors but unfortunately even after me writing two emails i.e. on 05-07-2008 & 09-07-2008 there was no response. I my opinion there is no person responsible for services or who looks into the operations.

I just wanted to share my experience with you so that you should be informed that what kind of services we are enrolling for before we go ahead with it.

And the ex-couple was back in court this morning for yet another visitation hearing. Apparently the “Gimme More” singer is saying ‘gimme more visitation,’ seeking an arrangement above and beyond her current three-a-week supervised visits.

Nowadays many celebrities are writing blogs...Amir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shekar Kapur
(many doubt if they really write or not... that is a different issue)

Obviously the fans will adore their hero’s blogs,

but what can a normal surfer, just an observer (like many of us) gain from such blogs?

It is good to read such celebrity blog’s to get an idea about their views, lifestyle, experience etc.
At times you can’t help thinking few of their whole blogging thing is just a marketing strategy, even if it is so, we can observe that too.

I liked Mr. Amitabh’s blog, and found interesting, informative and kind of good.

But apart from these blogs, I would also like to read blogs by Ratan Tata, Sudha Moorthy & Narayan Moorthy (INFOSYS , Amarthiya Sen, M.R.Husain ... but so far i don’t think any other celebrities in fields other than film industry in India is blogging ...

Many don’t even have a personal web site... (There are few exceptions like ... Mr. Abdul Kalam, Ms. Arundhathi Roy), I feel our young surfers will benefit a lot, if such talented celebrities blog a bit more.

Then we will enjoy infotainment using the web.

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan' who is the brand ambassador of Coca Cola as well as Indian Premier League (IPL) Mumbai Indians cricket team' says he endorses both because there is the common thread of sports between them.

'I think both Coca Cola and IPL support sports' which shows their commitment to a healthy lifestyle. I also feel sports is the common factor between Coca Cola and me'' Hrithik' who was in the capital to launch Coca Cola's Fridge Pack' told reporters Friday.

The Fridge Pack has been specially for being stored in refrigerator. Specificaly aimed at Indian consumers' it was initially launched in select cities including Delhi' Mumbai and Nasik and was launched at the national level Friday.

When asked about Health Minister Ambumani Ramadoss' threat to ban junk food' Hrithik said: 'Our young generation is health conscious and I don't agree with this statement. You have to be practical and realistic. You don't have to be addicted to anything.

Bollywood has always been making its presence felt at an international level. Now it’s going to the very fount of global entertainment by producing Hollywood films.

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE) has signed deals to provide development funds to eight leading creative forces in Hollywood. The deals include those with production houses like Nicolas Cage’s Saturn Productions, Jim Carrey’s JC 23 Entertainment, George Clooney’s Smokehouse Productions, Chris Columbus’s 1492 Pictures, Tom Hanks’s Playtone Productions, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Jay Roach’s Everyman Pictures.

This means that the company will provide for the creation of a development corpus for each of the Hollywood A-listers. The movies that will be made could initially amount to $1 billion.

This could easily be the amalgamation of the Indian Film industry with Hollywood. The Indian Film industry has always been closely associated with Hollywood. A number of actors from Bollywood have acted in Hollywood and vice-versa.

The collaboration could also see Amitabh Bachchan who is very close to Anil Ambani acting in a Hollywood film. Bachchan has The Last Lear to his credit and this step can finally see the Sean Connery of Bollywood give the original Sean Connery a run for his money.

We have to wait and watch how things progress from here. But for Reliance Entertainment it is surely going to be a ‘BIG’ step forward.

This movie depicts wide variety of people and you are sure to connect with one of them, and would make you feel a part of movie.

REVIEW:
What would you expect from the director of films like One Man Show, Kalyanaraman, Pulivaal Kalyanam, Thommanum Makkalum and Mayavi? No doubt a full-length, colourful entertainer with an interesting story and ample dosages of humour, songs and well-choreographed dance sequences. Well, that's exactly what Shafi gives you in his sixth and latest offering, which too is on the way to becoming another box office success. Chocolate, true to its name, is a yummy kind of film, one that you'd love to savour to the fullest extent. It's colourful, entertaining and youthful to the core.

The film tells the story of things that happen when a male student gets admitted to a Women's college where more than three thousand girls study, some of whom are dead against a male entering their preserve. Prominent among these are Anne, Nandana and Susan, who to a very great extent, rule the campus. But the principal, who was always in favour of making it into a co-ed college, decides to give admission to Shyam Balagopal, the son of one of the lecturers there, and a spoilt brat if there ever was one. Not willing to take this lying down, Anne, Nandana and Susan, decide to make the going hard for Shyam.

But Shyam is not what they had anticipated him to be. He had created problems wherever he had studied earlier and hence had never lasted long in any institution. He wasn't bothered whether he would last long in this one either, although there were many like Pappan (who ran the cyber café) and his friend Riyaz among others who had much fancied being out and about in this all-women's college. With Shyam's admission, these guys begin to feel that they too would get a chance to make their dreams come true.

There is another person who approaches Shyam with a different kind of request. He is Renjith, a young fashion designer, who wants to make Nandana his model (his real motive is something else!). He wants Shyam to help him in getting Nandana to agree to model and walk the ramp for him. All these combine to create the build up towards a very exciting and emotion-packed climax.

Prithviraj as Shyam is excellent. The way he plays the character, the timing that he displays in the comedy scenes, the energy that he breathes into the role make him endearing. Roma has done an excellent job as Anne, while Samvritha Sunil is good as Nandana. Jayasurya as Renjith is perfect, while Remya Nambeeshan is OK as Susan. Shaari as the principal, Laloo Aalex as Anne's father, Rajan P. Dev as Nandana's father, Salim Kumar as Pappan, Anoop Chandran as Riyaz, Bindu Panicker as Maria (who runs the college canteen) etc have all done full justice to their respective roles.

The songs have been choreographed well, in true Shafi style and sync perfectly with the theme and the mood. "Kalkanda Malare..." and "Ishtamalle..." are good ones. Technical aspects are excellent. Debutantes Sachi and Sethu, who penned the story and the script, deserve to be appreciated for having come up with so exciting an entertaining a subject. Bravo Shafi, Sachi, Sethu, Prithviraj, Roma and everyone else! To sum up, Chocolate is a clean entertainer, a perfect film for a festive season! Go and watch it with your family!

Ranbir Kapoor on Neetu Singh Kapoor: Mother's Day to me is an opportunity to keep on telling my mom how special she is to me. My mother gave me the freedom to take decisions when I was in Class V. She is so special!

Not only for me and my sister but for the entire family. She never interfered in my space. All she would say is that –Do whatever you want to. But just remember your origin, the royal blood in your veins. And that's more than enough for me to think and rethink before taking a decision.

Visiting that Ragavendra temple in Bangaloreis almost more than a routine for her. She has not seen him ever before in the temple.

He was sitting on the floor with his closed eyes, folded legs and locked fingers in 'Gnana Mudra'. He looked strange and different with a turban on his head and the very long flowing beard. Some thing was there in his face that attracted her. She could not understand what that was.

She finished her 'darshan' and came out; she saw the man was walking in the corridor. Again something was happening in her, she could not understand what was that. She was telling herself, "a poor old man. I have to help him". She ran to him, gave rupees ten in his hand and forced him to accept. He smiled, expressed a reverence like a 'prasadam' by keeping it in the forehead and thanked her by keeping the hand in prayer position ('Namasthey').

As she came out, she saw the man was getting into his Mercedes Benz, she was perplexed, shivered and ran to him and said, "Sir (Ayya!), Please forgive me, I did not do this to insult you. By seeing your dress and appearance, I thought you are struggling in life and offered you the money. It is a blunder. I am sorry. Please forgive me. Please give me back that money. I am sorry".

The man with the fake beard and turban laughed and replied her politely, "Ammaa.. There is no mistake of yours. It is the other way. The creator is again and again reminding me through some body, "You are nothing. You are not special. Everybody is equal in front of me". He keeps on sending this message again and again and today you happened to be a medium. That's it. Thanks a ton". His hand again went to prayer position, expressed gratitude to the lady and he went into his car.

When the lady realized the man was none other than Super star Rajini Kanth - Asia's number one paid actor, he has left the place.

She did not know what to do. With tears in her eyes, she was starring at the direction that the car went.

Munnabhai ties the knot

Sanjay Dutt and Manyata officially got married as per the Hindu rites in Mumbai on Monday (Feb 11). Both were clad in golden designer outfits with smiles to add on. 'Munna' seemed overjoyed and deliriously happy with the wedding proceedings. While wife Manyata curbed her emotions in front of the media and posed as a new bride. An extremely happy Sanjay Dutt addressed the media and said:"I am very happy."

Ironically, the Dutt sisters -- Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt -- were not present at the wedding. Media reports claim that the sisters were not even aware of the days proceedings.

Priya Dutt on Sanjay Dutt's marriage

When spoke to Sanjay Dutt's sister -- Priya Dutt -- and quizzed about her brother's marriage, she said:"There are always so many rumours, so I thought that this was also a rumour. I didn't know about it. I'm very happy with this wedding, after all it's his life, and our happiness lies in his happiness."

When probed further as to whether she would be join them in the celebration, she averred:"I don't know where the wedding was held, so I will wish him, when he comes home."

Further commenting on the Sanjay-Manyata's marriage, Priya Dutt stated:"I don't think he has given the wedding too much of importance as he has been seeing Manyata for a very long time, may be it's a formality. Sanjay is a 50-year old man and I don't think it's a matter of acceptance or not. Rather it is more a matter of wishing the very best for each other. I wish him all the happiness, which he very much deserves especially after what he has gone through."

The Dutt-Manyata saga

After rumours mills were abuzz about the status of relationship between -- Sanjay Dutt and Manyata -- it is learnt that the duo have solemenised the wedding according to Hindu rites in Mumbai on Monday (February 11) at the residence of a freind of Manyata's.

According to the media reports, Sanjay and Manyata got married at the Taj Exotica in Goa on February 7 under the Special Marriages Act. Reportedly, only a few close friends were witness to the occassion with Sanju's friend -- Bunty Walia -- being one among the few.

Sanjay Dutt reportedly completed divorce proceedings againt Rhea Pillai last month.. This was Sanju's third marriage. Reports claim that Manyata was presented a wedding ring by Sanju worth Rs 40 lakhs.

When quizzed, old friend of Sanjay, Aditya Pancholi said that he deserves to be happy and Manyata is the right choice for him.

On Sunday, February 10, Manyata was seen attending a function at her old school where she looked like a newly wed. She was dressed with vermillion smeared on her head. Though she shied away from talking about her love life, the glow on her face said it all.

When quizzed during the function, sounding a bit defensive, Manyata said:"I am not hiding anything but I am not commenting anything yet."

The rumours started after a leading English daily printed greetings to Bal Thackeray with the Dutt surname attached with her name. Manyata has been a pillar of strength for Sanjay all through his troubled times and their marriage doesn't come as any surprise.

Sanjay Dutt's lady love Manyata has constantly been seen with 'Munnabhai' at all public events. As Sanju ties the knot with Manyata, here is a background about the lady in the limelight. Manyata alias Dilhaaz Shaikh married Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt on Monday (Feb 11). The once innocuous Bollywood item girl, Manyata belongs to a conservative upper class family based in Dubai. Her family owns a textile business of their own. Manyata's luck with love has never favoured her in the past.

With three divorces highlighting her past, she would be hoping that this marriage with Sanju flourishes till the end. The lady has kissed the silver screen once in the past when she appeared in an item song in Prakash Jha's 'Gangaajal'. Her first marriage with Meraz Rahman -- supposed script writer -- did not prove to be successful. There are reports that Meraz had been allegedly arrested for sending vulgar SMS to various Bollywood actresses -- Kareena Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon and Smriti Irani.

After her disasterous first marriage, Manyata went on to tie the knot with a fabric merchant -- Mohammad Ali -- which did not fair well either. Very soon Manyata was caught under family pressures and was forced to get married for the third time to one Mr Naved. Sanjay Dutt, who has been married to Richa Sharma and model Rhea Pillai previously, is said to be very fond of Manyata, whom he met through a common friend -- Nitin Manmohan. The lady love has stood through the actor's thick and thin especially during the trial for the 1993 Mumbai serial blast case. Well wishers of the couple will hope that their jinx with marriage do not transcend in their marriage. TAARE ZAMEEN PAR .....if someone else had made this movie......

If Karan Johar made Taare

Obvious starcast:

Shah Rukh Khan as the arts teacher (duh duh duh!!).
Aryan Khan as the dyslexic child (even if he could not act for nuts).
Rani Mukerjee as the kid’s mom (assuming Kajol is unavailable).
Abhishek Bachchan as the kid’s dad.
Amitabh Bachchan as the school principal (who cares if the role is ultra minute, he can afford it).
It would be shot in New York to appeal to the NRI audience.
The story line would obviously be different. SRK would fall for the dyslexic kid’s mom. The last scene would have the mom running to the teacher rather than the kid. And again, like in so many other movies, SRK would get someone else’s girl.
It would have one dance number.
The film would be titled ‘Kuch Taare Zameen Par.’

If Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Taare

Obvious starcast:

Salman as the teacher.
Rani as the mother.
Of course the whole film would be shot on elaborate sets. The school would be nothing short of Harvard university.
An orchestra would play every time anyone cried.
Slow motion, different camera angles for every scene.
The school uniforms would match the classroom walls even though that does not make a f***ing difference.
The film would cost 60 crores.

If Farah Khan made Taare

Obvious starcast:

SRK as the teacher (yawn).
In the original Taare, Aamir makes an entry at the interval point. In Farah’s version, SRK would be on screen on for 2.30 hrs out of the 2.45 hrs and would be introduced in the first scene itself.
The story would be changed to make sure the above happened. The focus of the film would be a teacher who helps a kid fight dyslexia.
To make it a complete entertainer, there would be a romantic angle, comedy, and action thrown in. Oh idea!! Nikumbh’s character likes another teacher and the kiddo helps him.. throw in some comedy moments there and you have romance and comedy settled. For action.. hmm.. lemme see.. oh yah, the kid gets kidnapped and the teacher fights the baddies to save him. Wow!! I’m quite an imaginative writer. I can see how Farah can write a film from scratch in two weeks straight.
The film posters would have a big SRK with the tiny image of the kid in the background.

If Rakesh Roshan made Taare

Obvious starcast:

Hrithik Roshan as the teacher.
Since Rakesh Roshan cannot think beyond science fiction these days, this film would have that too. Instead of dyslexia, the kid would have alienositis or something, a condition induced due to him witnessing an alien abduction.
Instead of Nikumbh being an arts teacher, he would be a physics teacher, and instead of asking kids to be creative, he would ask them to challenge the science we know.
In the scene where Nikumbh asks the kids to open their minds and make whatever they want outdoors, the kid Ishaan, instead of making a boat, would end up making a working spaceship prototype.
Nikumbh would cure the kids problem by making a full fledged version of the kid’s prototype, traveling to the alien planet, and asking them to give the kid his powers back.
The film would have mus ic by Rajesh Roshan ripped off from some world music.
The film’s name would again start with a K.. probably ‘Kuch Aliens Taaron se Zameen Par’.
The director would make sure Hrithik gets to show all his abilities. This would mean a scene with Roshan jr flexing his muscles, and a dance competition in the end, instead of an arts competition.

If Priyadarshan made Taare:

Obvious starcast:

Akshay Kumar as the teacher.
Paresh Rawal as the kid’s dad.
It would be a brainless comedy. The kid’s dyslexia would be made fun of. Half the times the parents will be running after the kid from one room to the other and that, in the director’s opinion, would be funny.
The film will be full of sex jokes. So for example, when Akshay would come to the parents telling them that their son has dyslexia, the ignorant father would say something inappropriate like ‘iss umar mein? par kaise, woh to hamesha boys school mein padha hai!’. And yes, the director would think it is funny.
In the climax of the film all the characters in the film would run around in the amphitheater for no reason, spilling colors on each other. That’s where the film will end, without any logical conclusion.
And of course, Paresh Rawal would emote like an epileptic himself making us question the boy’s mental abilities anyway.

Zac Efron: The Ladies Love Him

Continuing on with the filming of his new movie “Seventeen”, Zac Efron was spotted dodging the raindrops in between takes in Santa Monica on Friday (January 4).

The High School Musical hunk shared a laugh with his on-set security, who held an umbrella over his head as the two were followed by a few enthusiastic young female fans.

Meanwhile, Zac’s HSM co-star girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens recently spoke to Seventeen magazine, coincidentally, about her nude photo scandal - also venturing into talk about her relationship with Mr Efron.

Speaking of Zac, Vanessa said: “He always makes me happy. He literally knows exactly what to do to make me laugh.”

But with the good, there’s always a bit of a downfall, as Hudgens admitted that “it can be hard dating the blue-eyed boy, especially since he is so very popular with the ladies.”

“It’s hard when you have a good-looking boyfriend,” she said. “You want your man to be your man. You don’t want all these girls up on him and stuff like that.”

Speaking of what the future holds, the 19-year-old Disney actress plans on taking things slowly, after all, she’s still just a teenager.

In the midst of all of the celebrity baby watches going on as of late, Nicole Kidman’s pregnancy announcement has been one of the biggest! And we may have discovered her due date.

It looks like the “Moulin Rouge” actress is slated for a summer delivery. At least, that’s what her mother seems to think.

Earlier this week, Nic’s mom Janelle told press, “I think it’s in July,” when questioned about her daughter’s expected due date. And if that pans out, Nicole will have a very happy birthday, as she turns 41 at the end of June.

And while she’s not exactly loving all the paparazzi attention during this joyous time, Kidman is, nevertheless, enjoying the fact that she’s expecting. She told press, “Very excited . . . thrilled,” when questioned about how she feels about having a bun in the oven.

Pop icon Madonna walked through narrow lanes in a slum and visited a flea market in India's financial capital during a holiday with her family.

Madonna, her film director husband Guy Ritchie and their three children arrived in Mumbai by chartered plane from the historic city of Udaipur in western India, where they had spent New Year's Eve.

The 49-year-old singer was accompanied on her tour of Mumbai's crowded Ambedkar Nagar slums by Australian author Gregory Roberts, whose bestselling autobiographical novel Shantaram is set in Mumbai.

Is there space for incompetence in this fast moving world? Ishaan (Darsheel Safary), a nine year old realizes very soon that there isn't. The young boy who finds it very difficult to cope up with his studies is unable to understand why his father and the world cannot think the way he does. Always at the back of his class, he is sent to a boarding school by his parents. Ishaan who was always close to his mother (Tisca Chopra) and elder brother (Sachet Engineer) now begins to live in a shell. His love for painting is now gone and this is first noticed by his new drawing teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan). Ram is able to identify Ishaan's problem – dyslexia. He goes and speaks to his parents but his father fails to understand. So now Ram takes it up himself to teach Ishaan.

Papa Awasthi is one angry middle-aged man who wants Ishaan to be like his older brother Yohaan (Sachet Engineer) – a winner. Caught between the father and son is the mother (Tisca Chopra) who cannot decide for herself what is right and what's not. Things reach a head and Ishaan is packed off to a boarding school. Far away from home and family, the otherwise lively Ishaan withdraws into a shell and refuses to participate in anything whatsoever. But unknown to everyone around him and definitely not by the parameters of his father, Ishaan is a winner. And it is upto his art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir) to show the world what a unique child he is.

Taare Zameen Par comes at a time when reports of student suicides and campus killings are haunting us as never before. Whether it's Noida or Mumbai, kids are increasingly finding themselves at a point where they either have to join the rat race or simply be left behind. Indeed at a very basic level Taare Zameen Par talks about the travails of a special child, who is struggling to be part of the world around him. But in more ways than one the film addresses the issues that children living on the fringes have faced for the longest time.

At the same time, with its sensitively written story and screenplay, Taare… brings back to mind some of the bittersweet experiences from our own childhood. While Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's score leaves us with moist eyes, it is Setu's cinematography that translates the melody (and indeed the story) on to the screen. Setu's job has indeed been quite challenging for capturing the spontaneity of children has never exactly been easy. A special round of applause for Darsheel who is brilliant in his debut as is Aamir... in his. But here's a word of advice: Don't watch Taare Zameen Par for its craft because chances are you'll miss out on the simplicity it brings forth through its almost three hour duration. Here's a towel-wringing movie, enjoy it for what it is worth.

Past winners of the title include Jessica Biel, Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson. The issue featuring Theron hits newsstands October 16.

Theron talked with the magazine about growing up on a farm, her political interests and her work, including her latest movie, In the Valley of Elah, a murder mystery set among US troops newly returned from Iraq.

"I wanted to make the movie precisely because it evades formulas about guilt," the 32-year-old actress said. "I'm drawn to ambiguity."

Theron also candidly discussed her least favourite film, Reindeer Games.

"That was a bad, bad, bad movie," she said. "But ... I got to work with John Frankenheimer. I wasn't lying to myself - that's why I did it."

Lohan vows to 'grow up'

Four days out of rehab, troubled actress Lindsay Lohan apologized to fans and vowed to change her hard-partying ways in two interviews published on Tuesday.

"The biggest thing is not being in LA and staying away from the nightlife," Lohan told In Touch Weekly when asked how her life would change .

"There are some things that I can do to make changes and grow up. I want to act like a woman rather than a teenager," said the 21-year-old former Disney television and movie star.

"I just want to apologise to any of my fans that look up to me, especially my younger fans, for setting the examples that I didn't mean to set," Lohan said.

In a separate interview with OK! magazine, Lohan said rehab "made me look at myself and all the people, places and things in my life in a different way."

Lohan rose to fame as a child star on cable TV and in teen-oriented movies such as Freaky Friday, and she gained a reputation for serious acting in A Prairie Home Companion.

But Hollywood's fast pace took its toll. Lohan was hounded by paparazzi tracking her party girl ways. Her two recent movies, Georgia Rule and I Know Who Killed Me, bombed.

Worse, Lohan was involved in two driving incidents that led to her pleading guilty in August to cocaine possession and no-contest to drunken driving charges. She checked into the Cirque Lodge in Utah and remained there until last Friday.

"It was really humbling for me, but I liked how I was treated as a normal person," she told In Touch Weekly.

Lohan said she had to clean "the common areas" and she liked "making coffee for the gym."

She also reunited with her father, Michael, from whom she was estranged for 3 1/2 years. Lohan said it was "really good for me." Her parents are divorced, and Lohan said it was her mother Dina's idea for her to reach out to her dad.

"The trouble in my family resulted in me rebelling and doing things to try to get my parents' attention," she said.

Lohan told In Touch she is seeing a man who was identified by the magazine as Riley Giles, a 25-year-old snowboarder from California she met at Cirque.

"I am really happy and taking it day by day," she said. "I am surrounded with people that don't use me."

Finally, Lohan said it is time to get back to work.

"I'm going back to (Los Angeles) to shoot Dare To Love Me, but I plan on returning to Utah so I can stay focused and avoid other distractions," she told OK!

Actor Owen Wilson was released from a clinic nearly one week after a suicide attempt, People magazine reported today.

The Wedding Crashers star was being observed around the clock at his house in Santa Monica, California after being released earlier in the weekend.

Last Sunday he reportedly cut his left wrist and took an indeterminate amount of pills.

"Owen is in bad mental shape but said he is thankful to be alive," a source close to the actor told the magazine.

US actress Lindsay Lohan has another court date.

A Los Angeles judge today refused to dismiss portions of a lawsuit against the 21-year-old actress over an October 2005 accident in which her Mercedes-Benz collided with a van.

California Superior Court Judge Michael Stern rejected a motion that argued the lawsuit lacked legal sufficiency, and set April 7 for the trial.

The California Highway Patrol concluded that Raymundo Ortega, a busboy, caused the accident by making an illegal U-turn, but he sued Lohan and is seeking at least $240,000 in damages.

Ortega was knocked out in the crash, said his lawyer, Robert Klein.

Lohan and a female passenger sustained minor injuries.

Ortega's suit contends that Lohan was fleeing paparazzi and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

"This case is about responsibility and she's not taking responsibility," Klein said outside court.

Lohan's lawyer, David Ozeran, said outside court that there was no evidence that Lohan was intoxicated.

Last month, Lohan agreed to spend a day in jail and complete a drug treatment program after pleading guilty or no contest to misdemeanour drunken driving and cocaine charges stemming from arrests earlier this year in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.

Lindsay Lohan's former bodyguard has revealed that her parents have to be blamed for the starlet's bad behaviour, for both Michael and Dina Lohan 'were wild, abusive, neglectful partiers'.

Tony Almeida, who worked with the Mean Girls star between 2002-2005, has opened the lid on how she had to deal with her parent's alcohol and drug related abuses from a young age.

"From a young age, she dealt with her father's physical, emotional and drug abuses as well as her mother's drinking," the New York Post quoted him, as saying.

Citing one incident, he said that once a furious Michael Lohan had ‘slammed on the brakes and dragged her out of the car, pushed her up against the hood, screamed at her and called her a slut on the Long Island Expressway.'

Almeida 'got in the middle of it and pulled him off.'

"(Meanwhile, Dina often) let her do whatever she wanted, just to keep her happy and working... [At her 16th birthday party] Lindsay drank whatever she wanted - I saw her drinking beer and mixed drinks with my own eyes [without Dina's intervention]," he added.

The ex-bodyguard also said that Dina looked at the starlet as a cash cow. Dina was desperate to become a star herself and received 10 percent of Lindsay's income.

“The Wackness” also stars Josh Peck, a teen drug dealer who trades weed for therapy sessions with Dr. Squires, played by Kingsley. MK’s character is Union one of Josh’s drug buying customers. We are truly loving Mary Kate’s venture into adulthood. It seems that she is finally going through the Poison Ivy section of her career (which is one of our favorite Drew Barrymore eras) and going strong. The kiss with Kingsley is even slightly reminiscent of Drew’s love scene with Tom Skerrit the older man and friend’s father she peruses in the film. Also mirroring Barrymore’s childhood a bit with a full on stint as a child actress followed by a full on stint in rehab. In fact they even shared the same portable chaperone that Drew used as a teen fighting cocaine addiction. It appears Mary Kate is definitely on the right track and perusing just the right career moves.

Ben also commented on MK as an actress saying; “It’s for a few seconds and then we disappear and we never see each other again in the movie. But she is a trigger into my quest for happiness. She is this great free spirit, you know, she is equally seducing so it is a level playing field. Mary-Kate has huge energy. She is very, very committed to her work.”

Working in showbiz since she was just a few months old definitely shows commitment. Hopefully there are a lot more shocking roles from Mary Kate to come. In the mean time “The Wackness” opens next year.

Lindsay Lohan says she is innocent of driving under the influence and cocaine possession.

The actress was arrested early Tuesday in Santa Monica for investigation of felony cocaine possession and misdemeanour driving under the influence and with a suspended licence, less than two weeks after completing her second trip to rehab.

"I am innocent ... did not do drugs, they're not mine. I was almost hit by my assistant Tarin's mum I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy," the 21-year-old actress wrote in an email to Access Hollywood host Billy Bush, the show reported on its website Tuesday night.

Police found cocaine in one of Lohan's pockets during a pre-booking search, Sergeant Shane Talbot said. Police initially said Lohan was also being booked for investigation of transporting a narcotic but later said she was not.Police received an emergency call from the mother of Lohan's former personal assistant saying that Lohan was chasing her in a sport utility vehicle, said Lieutenant Alex Padilla. The assistant had quit hours before, he said.

Lohan joins a long list of young actors who have battled problems with drugs, alcohol, or both. They include River Phoenix, Drew Barrymore, Corey Feldman, Danny Bonaduce and Macaulay Culkin.

Anissa Jones, who played Buffy on TV's Family Affair, was just 18 when she died of a drug overdose in 1976. Culkin, best known for his starring turn in the kid-friendly Home Alone films, was busted in his early 20s for possession of pot and Xanax.

Britney Spears' recent photo shoot for OK! magazine was a nightmare, says editor-in-chief Sarah Ivens.

"I've never seen anything like it," Ivens told The Associated Press in a phone interview today. "It's definitely the most bizarre shoot I've ever been on."

Representatives for Spears had offered an exclusive interview that was intended as career comeback for the 25-year-old pop singer, Ivens said.

"What actually transpired on the day was a shock to us and left me and the whole crew feeling quite shocked and sad, really," she said.

During the shoot, Spears wiped grease on a designer dress, treating it like "a napkin," said Ivens, and sat back and watched as her Yorkshire terrier puppy defecated on a $US6,700 ($A7,614) designer gown.

"I wasn't in the room but I was there to hear the upset shrieks of the stylist," Ivens said. "Her assistant dealt with it in the end, after being asked to take care of it. They had to be asked to clear it up."

Spears took frequent trips to the bathroom - leaving the door open - and complained that the high-end clothing put together for the July 19 shoot was not sexy, short or tight enough, the magazine said.

After about three hours, Spears bolted before the shoot was over, walking away with more than $US14,000 ($A15,900) of borrowed apparel, Ivens said.

OK! publicist Brian Strong said the magazine did not publish the photos in its latest issue because they "weren't up to standard".

A representative at Jive Records, Spears' record label, did not immediately return a phone call and email seeking comment today.

Spazzy Cameron Diaz is stepping away from the mind-numbing comedies she’s been doing lately to take on a dramatic role for director Nick Cassavetes. Variety reports that Diaz is set to star in a Cassavetes movie called My Sister’s Keeper.

In it, Cameron is a former defense attorney who returns to her trade when her 13-year-old daughter sues she and her husband for emancipation. Now here’s where it gets really weird. Apparently the girl was conceived to be some sort of organ donor for her cancer riddled sister. I think I may end up coming down on her side in this.

If not for Cassavetes, I’d be quick this project as too stupid to exist. It sounds like a movie of the week on the Lifetime channel, not an actual Hollywood feature. But, with The Notebook Cassavetes has burned himself onto my psyche as one of a handful of directors who’ve made me openly weep in a movie theater. Maybe even with Cameron Diaz dragging the movie down, he can find something less than stupid in My Sister’s Keeper

Lindsay Lohan's estranged father Michael Lohan has confessed recording phone calls he has with his kids - to prevent his words being used against him in court. court.

Michael Lohan is current embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle with his estranged wife Dina, and he fears his kids are being used as pawns in the fight.

Upon leaving a New York courthouse on Friday (27Jul07), where Lohan was ordered to pay Dina $500 (£250)-a-month in child support, he told reporters of his paranoia: "I record my conversations with my children to protect myself and to protect them.

"My children are told what to say on that phone when they talk to me."

His comments come a day after his teenage daughter Ali told a gossip website that her father was not to be believed when claiming he was a loving, caring father.

She insisted Michael was never around for his kids and blamed him for her famous sister's ongoing problems.

The couple have four children Lindsay, who is the eldest and most famous, Michael, Aliana, an aspiring model and actress and Dakota (Cody).
